Democratic Caucus: February 13, 2010
by Tom Driscoll 2/6/10
It occurs to me that the last notice we posted on the upcoming Holliston Democratic Town Caucus was maybe a bit light hearted. With a play on words (and a little self deprecation) we urged folks to "get their carcass to the Democratic Caucus," with a picture of Mike Dukakis (in his tank no less).
Well, with the results of the Special Senate Election in, and no shortage of deprecation from other sources, maybe a slightly more serious appeal is in order. There's one election contest behind us, and there's plenty more to come this year. But just as important as those contests, maybe even a bit more so, is a better conversation... Democrats among Democrats —and out in the larger community. That better conversation begins with involvement.
The Holliston Democratic Town Caucus is open to all Holliston Democrats, registered as of December 31, 2009. The Caucus session is Saturday, February 13th at 10:00 AM at The Holliston Town Hall Selectman's Meeting Room; and at the Caucus we will elect delegates to represent Holliston at this Summer's State Democratic Convention.
Whether you want to participate in that convention yourself, or you want to advocate for your issues and impart your concerns to those who do, this Saturday at Town Hall is a good place to begin if you're a beginner —and a good place to keep up the fight if you've been at it all along.
Be there for your community.
