The Cosmic Sister

by Bobby Blair 2/5/10

Rae Finn first held her art classes in Webster before she moved her art passion to Woodland Street, but that was five years ago. With three small children Finn gave the paint brushes a five-year vacation. The past June with an empty building at 24 Exchange Street (behind the former office of Holliston Oil), Finn opened up shop.

Finn has a passion for art, and believes art should be shared and free flowing. "I believe in letting the kids draw outside the lines" she told me. The Cosmic Sisters hours are Monday -- Thursday from 3 - 5 p.m. with drop-in hours on Tuesday and Thursdays. Finn also holds a once a month class for adults. The younger set includes toddlers up to 15 years old.

Finn's daughter Abby was hard at work on her exploration journal during my visit, just one of the many types of creative learning Finn teaches.

Finn (above) holds up a shirt from last summer.  She told me The Cosmic Sister will once again be celebrating Earth Day (April 17-18th) by holding a poster contest. The Cosmic Sister holds Summer Camp on Mondays - Wednesdays from 10 - 2 p.m.

In addition to art classes, the studio's front room serves as a resale boutique, specializing in clothing and accessories. Here's The Cosmic Sister website for more information --  http://thecosmicsister.net/
