Finally Full of Yourself

by Paul Saulnier
January 22, 2017

I met Maria in her home in Holliston to learn about her book, Finally FULL of Yourself, Unlocking Your Spiritual DNA, in advance of her signing, scheduled for January 28, 2017.

If you know Maria you know the meeting was intense. I was impressed with her sincerity and worn out by the end of the meeting. And that's a good thing. "This book has been 30 years in the making", said Maria. It was written 4 times and burned three times. "I have written and rewritten it until I was satisfied. My heart and soul is in there".

Maria's philosophy of life and how to live it happily is explained throughout the book. "Whatever you focus on controls your life. You come into this world with everything you need. Forget about other people's opinions".

The opening quote from Rumi, a 13th Century Persian poet, sets the tone for the reader: Why do you stay in prison when the door is so wide open? Although the book is about Maria's journey through life she reveals how we all share in the same journey. Finally FULL of Yourself contains forty-eight chapters of dealing with life in this modern age where "this is the first generation that the children know more than the parents".

Although the book deals with a serious topic, you and me and our well-being, it has its whimsicle moments, using qoutes from Snow White and others like Michael Franti: All the freaky people make the beauty of the world. Maria loves ice cream and devotes a section of the book to what she calls the Ice Cream Index. I had some while reading the book. It helped.

In the closing pages of the book another quote, this one from Elizabeth Kubler Ross, a Swiss-American psychiatrist,  summarizes the path to fulfillment:

The most beautiful people we have known...have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and a deep loving concern. Beautiful people do not just happen.

When you are finally full of yourself, you will be truly happy. This book might help you get there.

Saturday, January 28, 2017, between 1 and 3 PM at Fiske's General Store. Meet Maria and start your journey to fulfillment.
