Fire Strikes Four-Plex

Fire crews responded to a structure fire at 48 North Mill Street on Monday just past 2 pm.  Engine companies had difficulty accessing a water supply early on.

Deputy Chief Mark Dellicker tries to uncover a hydrant on Hargrave Ave which had been plowed in.

No estimate of damage is available at this time. The home houses four apartments. Fire command was terminated at 4:20 pm.

What can we learn from this? Take action to make sure the fire hydrant near your home is accessible -- and make sure it is not unintentionally buried. One cannot predict when it will be needed.
