Graves Decorated in Record Time

Many hands make light work and so it was Thursday night when scores of scouts turned up at St. Mary's and Lake Grove Cemetery to help decorate veterans graves.

Above, Vietnam veteran Richard Finn places a new flag on the Mattscheck family grave.

Above, American Legion Commander Steve Bradford gives the younger set a history lesson on the history of taps.

 

Joe Cebotti plays taps before the old flags are burned in a fitting ceremony. Fire department personnel stood by with an engine truck just in case.

It is heartwarming to see the children getting a taste of history and see how to respect our flag and not set them on fire as a protest against our government.

The fact that Ted lives in Holliston made it possible for his co-author, and wife Ann Marie to join the fun.
