HIB Summer Wrap-up

by Mary Greendale
August 29, 2018

Holliston in Bloom is wrapping up the summer season by making our final two floral and landscape design awards this week. Let’s be honest, the season is waning. Many annuals are running out of color, and some perennials are ready for a rest. Here are a couple of homes where things continue to look good.

542 Winter Streethome of Kathy and Tom Anguish

Just driving by this house is a treat for the eyes blending fantastic older trees with protective ground covers under them alongside beds of flowers and shrubs. Real curb appeal. On the left side of the house set well back away from the street is a lovely sitting area. This yard is a blend of sun and shade to envy. We hope the homeowners are pleasantly surprised when they see the ribbon! Congratulations.

90 Anne Marie Drivehome of Pat and Scott Montain

I can bet this garden is a labor of love. Nestled in Queens at one of the more remote corners, this ranch looks great because the gardener included annuals like the vine on the railing along with perennials in the bed. In reality, there are hundreds of beautiful floral gardens and landscapes in town, and HIB has highlighted just a few. Congratulations to all. Until next year!!
