Blair Square Committee members Tuesday night made final adjustments to a plan drawn up by GLM Engineeers for the renovation of the rail trail behind Casey's Crossing on Railroad Street. The committee is facing a February 1st deadline to submit a grant application to the state for grants monies. "The MassTrails Program will provide a total of approximately $5 million in matching grants through the first round of funding in Fiscal Year 2020 and will also offer technical assistance and resources to individuals, municipalities, non-profits, and other public entities to design, construct, and maintain high-quality Massachusetts trails."

Blair Square Committee members made several revisions to the plan including, lighting, fencing details and a bumper at the east end (Church Street). The committee also plans to request monies for pedestrian signals at Church Street.

The most recent plans call for parking for 21 vehicles, a west to east one way roadway, and a buffered trail passing the rear of the old depot. An easement of several feet is being sought from Casey's Crossing owner John McCarthy to accommodate the trail itself.
