March 21, 2019

Holliston Pantry Shelf recently announced it received a $20,000 gift from Middlesex Savings Bank. The support will allow Holliston Pantry Shelf to continue to offer Holliston residents nutritious foods to families free of any cost, in a confidential setting.

Holliston Pantry Shelf offers fresh produce, milk, meats, canned goods, and other quality items for families experiencing food insecurity.   Founded in 1993, Holliston Pantry Shelf has served thousands of Holliston residents in a setting that is focused on dignity and the philosophy of “Neighbors Helping Neighbors.”

“We are truly grateful for this extraordinarily generous gift,” said Steve Bradford, President of Holliston Pantry Shelf.  “Middlesex Savings Bank is a true friend to our community, and we are honored to use this gift to make a real difference for people that are unable to afford food for their families.”

“Middlesex Savings Bank has great respect for our local food pantries,” said Mike McAuliffe, president and CEO of Middlesex Savings Bank. “They work tirelessly year round to help our friends and neighbors in need and we are pleased to know that our gift will help these organizations carry out their selfless work.”

The $20,000 gift to Holliston Pantry Shelf is part of a cumulative $1.4 million gift that Middlesex Savings Bank distributed to 84 non-profit organizations including food pantries, senior centers and libraries within its retail branch territory.
