Women Build 2019

172 Concord Street, Holliston, MA

April 30, 2019 through June 2019

*Please email or call for specific dates on-site.*

Habitat for Humanity MetroWest/Greater Worcester (HFH MW/GW) announces its 2019 Women Build event to take place at 172 Concord Street in Holliston, MA. The event begins on April 30th and runs through June.

Each day will feature a different team from a local business, church, or community group.  Some of the businesses and churches participating in the event include Consigli Construction, New York Life, Mirick O'Connell, Cutler Associates, ERA Key Realty, SVN/ Parsons Commercial Group, MathWorks, Boston Scientific, and more.

The 3-bedroom, 1 ½ bath home is located on a .5 parcel of land.  The home was abandoned for several years and needs extensive rehabbing so that a local family will be able to live in a decent and affordable home in a safe and caring community with an excellent school system.  The 110-year old home was donated to Habitat by the Holliston Housing Trust.

Parking Information:  Please park on one side of Jarr Brook Road, a residential neighborhood.  It is a very short walk to the build site at 172 Concord Avenue:  Habitat Parking for Women Build

About Women Build

Women Build calls attention to the plight of single women who are in need of safe and affordable housing.  Teams of women and men will be converging on the 172 Concord Street home in Holliston throughout April, May, and June to highlight this issue.

Since 1991, Women Build volunteers from all walks of life have come together to build stronger, safer communities. Our future homeowners are largely comprised of women and children who most often have been affected by poor living conditions. Women Build promotes empowerment for the participants and the families.

About Habitat for Humanity MetroWest/Greater Worcester

Habitat for Humanity MetroWest/Greater Worcester’s mission is to build homes, community and hope for local low-income families and veterans in the Greater Worcester and MetroWest areas of Massachusetts. We serve 42 cities and towns in the region. Under the motto of “a hand up, not a handout,” we build houses with families rather than for them. Partner families must contribute 400 to 500 hours of sweat equity building their homes and learning skills to become successful homeowners. They also pay back an affordable mortgage, based on their income.
