Cool it!

Cool it!

Be careful not to overcool rooms. In the hot weather, set the temperature higher than you might think is comfortable.

Cooling systems remove humidity, so a higher temperature feels cooler than that same temperature with summer humidity.  Just like in winter, adjusting your thermostat during sleeping hours a few degrees can make a big difference.

Since air-conditioned air holds less moisture, running a fan in your bedroom can make it feel cooler while not using energy to keep the whole house at the desired sleeping time comfort level.

Smart thermostats can be set to automatically adjust the amount of cooling at specific times of day or night.
