Think Winter -- Snow and Ski
by Bill Tobin 11/1/11
We had a preview of winter for a day anyway, but the real winter is coming soon. It can be long and dull, or...
...it can be invigoratiing, fun and exciting for all ages. The choice is yours.
Winter is coming. Remove screens and replace them with winter storm sash, check the heating system, store summer furniture, stack wood for the fireplace, rake leaves, rake more leaves. Then settle back for a long and exciting winter.

Winter can be a lot of fun and exciting if you ski. Skiing is exhilarating for all ages, from tots to teetering old folks, and it is less than a hour's drive from Holliston. You can drive further to the White Mountains, northern Maine or Vermont. If you wish, a mere forty-five minute drive will get you to Mount Wachusett..
It is fun to challenge gravity -- and win.

This ski area has some of the best snow making equipment in the northeast, so there is great skiing every day from December through March on pleasant, well-groomed trails. There are trails for all levels of ability. If you have never skied before, or if it has been a while since you donned the skis, now is the time to consider returning. Lessons are available for all ages, and the new, curved skis are designed to do most of the work for you.
And, lessons are available to all, beginners, intermediate and advanced skiers, regardless of age, no one is too young or too old.
The mountain is open daily from 9 AM to 10 PM, seven days a week to accommodate just about anyone's schedule. I like to go in the morning and ski until noon when the crowds are the least.
In this economy, there is a great opportunity to enjoy the sport, and not break the bank by you purchasing a season's pass. Do you realize that if you use this pass about six times during the year, you will break even? Also, with the season's pass, you will be inclined to ski more often.
A fantastic, rewarding family experience.
Do consider joining the Holliston based club now, which is under the name Tobin, before November 16th and enjoy the best rates available. A Bronze Century Pass which is honored Monday-Friday days and seven nights a week, except holidays and school breaks, is only $239.00. A $10 discount is offered if you ski on a weekend day.
A Silver Century Pass is the same, except you can ski weekends early and late season at no extra cost. The price of this pass is $289.00 with a $15 discount if you ski on weekend days.
The Gold Century Pass offers unlimited skiing for $539.00
A senior Gold Pass (0ver 65) is only $269.00. A senior Bronze pass is $239.00
If you delay purchasing your pass until after November 16th, add $100 to each pass, except the senior which does not increase.
The passes are valid, of course, for skis or boards.
As a Wachusett pass holder, you are entitled to discounts at other ski areas, such as Jay Peak, Okemo, Stratton, Sugarbush, and Burke all in Vermont; Shawnee Peak in Maine; Mt Sunapee, Cannon and Wildcat in New Hampshire; and Jiminy Peak in Massachusetts, as well as discounts in Utah and Colorado.
Seriously consider joining us for a great winter ski season and enjoy the great outdoors. The apres ski socials are fun too.
