Commencemnent Exercises were held in the Rowles Field House on Sunday, June 5, 2011 for 218 graduating seniors of Holliston High School.

The Holliston High School Band provided a prelude prior to the exercises.

Principal Michael Cournoyer (left) and Superintendent Brad Jackson led the procession into the field house, followed by the School Committee and HHS faculty.

Marshals Ross Camiel and Marshall Cohen led the Class of 2011.

The graduates wore the traditional red and white academic robes and mortar boards. They entered to Edgar Elgar's Pomp & Circumstance played by the band with Joseph Lordan, Director.

Let the ceremonies begin.

The Senior members of the chorus sang a moving rendition of our National Anthem.

Principal Michael Cournoyer congratulated the soon-to-be graduates, and welcomed all to the commencement ceremonies.

Superintendent Brad Jackson congratulated the graduates.  He announced the retirement of Assistant Superintendent Timothy Cornely, thanked him for his many years of service to the town and wished him well in his retirement.

Beth Katz entertained with her rendition of Hometown Glory.

Class Salutatorian Rachel Pollinger spoke of the competition of her classmates that brought out the best in everyone, both cooperation and competion.  She ended her talk by saying that Holliston High School is the best.

Class Valedictorian Anooj Patel began his remarks stating that this was his first public address and it was an honor to represent his classmates. He stressed the importance of taking risks, making friends, managing time, and asking for help. Think and then act, that is life. He thanked his parents, teachers and friends for all their support.  This may have been his first public speech, but the audience was so impressed that he was rewarded with a standing ovation.

Brittany Burke, the Class President commented that she will not forget her classmates who grew up together and will hold these memories forever. Holliston will always be her support.

A musical perfomance was presented by Harrison Freudenberger, Christopher Gusmini, Brian Kilkelly and Gabriel Zarkados.

The graduates were then awarded their diplomas, presented to them by a faculty member of their choice.

It was a memorable day for all. The sun was shining on the graduates. Congratulations to the Class of 2011, Holliston High School.
