The Cookbook Club will visit Silverwood Organic Farm and Chronicle reporter and Holliston resident, Ted Reinstein will visit the library to talk about his new book, Wicked Pissed: New England’s Greatest Feuds.

There are lots of great programs at the Holliston Public Library this fall.  On Monday, September 19 at 7 pm, Ted Reinstein, author and reporter for Chronicle will visit to speak about his latest book, Wicked Pissed: New England’s Most Famous Feuds.  Chronicle is America’s longest-running, locally produced nightly news magazine and Ted, a Holliston resident, has reported for the show since 1997.  On Monday, October 3 at 7 pm, Stephanie Shorow will speak about her book, The Crime of the Century:  How the Brinks Robbers Stole Millions and the Hearts of Boston. In 1950, a team of 11 thieves stole more than $2 million from the Brinks Armored Car depot in Boston. It was almost the perfect crime and the biggest heist in American history.  Days before the statute of limitations expired the culprits were finally caught.  Both authors will sell their books and copies may be borrowed from the library.

On Thursday, September 15 the Cookbook Club will take a field trip to Silverwood Organic Farm in Sherborn at 6 pm.  Participants are asked to make a dish from one of the two selected cookbooks to pass.  The books are Feast: Generous Vegetarian Meals for Any Eater and Any Appetite by Sarah Copeland and The French Market Cookbook by Clotilde Dusoulier.  Copies are free to borrow now.  Silverwood Farm will host the group and introduce them to eating organic vegetables.  The program is free and open to all.  Directions to the farm can be found at www.silverwoodorganicfarm.com.  For more info on these programs, visit www.hollistonlibrary.org or call 508-429-0617 or email Lmcdonnell@minlib.net.
