Christmas Past

by Bill Tobin 12/3/11

Sunday at the Historical House is a day to stir your memories.

Were you a kid or a parent in the 30's, 40's, 50's,  60's,  70's or  80's?  If the answer is yes, you will enjoy reminiscing with the decorations, toys and stuff from those years.

The Historical Society has assembled an assortment of interesting memorabilia that is on display at the Asa Whiting House at 545 Washington Street

on Sunday, December 4th from 1- 4 PM  complimented with Christmas decorations of that era.

Above is part of the 30's and 40's collection on display in the dining room.

Erector sets, Tinker Toys, Train sets and oh so much to bring back memories of the old days.

The not-so-distant past, the 70's and 80's, are so different from today's toys for the kids.

Life was simple in the 1890's as the display in the parlor portrays.

Come and  enjoy again the memories of the your youth.  There is much, much, more on display.

Merry Christmas,  2011
