The birth of Jesus is reenacted again in Sherborn, right across the Holliston line

The Downing field is the setting of this beautiful reminder of the birth of Christ with two more productions of the pageant on Friday at 7:30 and 8:30.
And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished
that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son,
and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger;
because there was no room for them at the inn. Luke 2: 6-7
Mary and Joseph are turned away as there is no room in the Inn, but were offered the opportunity to stay in the manger with the animals.
It is the night of the savior's birth, as announced by the Angel Gabriel.
Jesus is born
Joseph cuddles the new born baby Jesus in his arms.
The three wise men arrive bearing gifts for the newborn king,
The word is out and many flock to the manger to greet Jesus.
The angels all come to worship the newborn Jesus.
This is the 34th year that the Downing family has presented this beautiful pageant in the fields adjacent to their home on Washington Street in Sherborn on the Holliston border. Ty Pinkham, Peter and Barbara Downing narrated the pageant with appropriate backgound music. Monica Shanahan, the daughter of Richard and Joan Downing was the head angel and Jim and Margaret Simonds played Mary and Joseph. Baby Jesus was six week old Brooks Pinkham. Richard and Joan Downing, and Jim and Lisa Shanahan graciously open their homes to any and all for hot chocolate and pastries following the pageant.
Thank you to all who make this pageant a great Christmas tradition.
