NIMBY -- Snow, that is...

Is this really winter?  Where is the snow? 

Found some man made snow at Mt Wachusett ski area, and it is just like the real stuff

When you do not see snow in your own back yard, you are not apt to think of skiing. However, just about an hour's drive from Holliston there is plenty of good snow for skiing and boarding.

The snow is plentiful, and until last Thursday, none of it fell from the skies.

It is deep and groomed to the delight of ski enthusiasts.

This young boarder was very cautious in his descent.

The two photos above were taken in January 2011, the year of real snow, but can you honestly tell the difference?

And as always, the warming fire and a cup of warm cider is always inviting.

So do not dispair, get out the ski gear and make the short trip west to the Mt.  Wachusett and enjoy a morning or afternoon or evening or all day of great skiing with friends and family. The winter is short.  Don't waste it.

Remember last January ?  How can we forget.
