Holliston Democrats to Hold Caucus

If you’re tired of just complaining about politics, here is your chance to do something about it. Participate in the democratic process and make a difference.

Attend the Holliston Democratic Caucus on Saturday, February 11. Caucus attendees will elect eight Democrats to represent Holliston at the State Democratic Convention to be held June 2.

       
The meeting is open to all Holliston residents; however, only those who have registered as Democrats in Holliston by December 31, 2011 are allowed to vote and/or run for delegate or alternate positions. Eight delegates and one alternate will be elected from the caucus to represent Holliston at the state convention (Delegates are not limited to members of the Holliston Democratic Town Committee). Delegates will be divided equally between men and women. Those not elected who meet the qualifications may apply to be add-on delegates. 

This year’s Massachusetts Democratic Convention will be held Saturday, June 2 at the Mass Mutual Center in Springfield. All Massachusetts Democrats chosen at their local caucuses will gather to nominate Democratic candidates to run in the 2012 election, including the Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate.

For anyone looking to get more involved in politics, the caucus is a great place to start. Join your neighbors, friends and other Holliston Democrats on Saturday, February 11 at Holliston Town Hall, 703 Washington Street, Room 105. Sign-in will be from 10-10:15 a.m. Doors will close promptly at 10:15 a.m. when the meeting begins. A coffee and meet-and-greet session will immediately follow the caucus.
