Is This the Way to Attract Business in Holliston?

by Paul Saulnier 1/29/12

Anyone with a small business in Holliston knows this form of advertising will not endear you to the Zoning Enforcement Officer.

HollistonReporter.com has been contacted by several residents complaining about these signs which appeared along Washington Street today. A call to the toll free number connected only to an answering machine.

The Town Fathers understand the tough times that small businesses have endured during the recession and have worked with owners as much as legally possible. But illegal signs, either in the form of sandwich boards or on lawns have not been tolerated.

These Burma Shave inspired signs will not be well received on Monday morning when  You-Know-Who passes by them on his way into Town Hall. And they could possibly turn potential business away.

Thank the Lord, that crime wave has been averted. If this got out of hand, some of those houses on Washington Street might have gotten painted.
