by Bobby Blair 2/14/12
A number of discussions and public hearings were postponed Tuesday night.

A discussion relating to an enforcement order for Highland Meadows/The Orchards (below) on Highland Street with Gary Ruping of Ruping Companies was postponed.

A discussion relative to land at 211 Norfolk Street was held concerning the recently placed silt traps. While Agent Katuska and Commissioner Fred Carnes found enforcement order conditions in compliance, a question arose to the actual owner of the property. The meeting handout noted Koshivaki, Koshivas et al. The board believes the land is in litigation. 211 Norfolk is located across from Arcadian Farmstand.

Robert Weidknecht chair of the Trails Committee (above) brought the Con/Com up to speed on the progress of the binding of the trail from Hopping Brook Road to South Street. Weidknecht said a final layer of stone dust would be added this spring.

A final review of conservation restrictions at Balancing Rock Condominiums ran into a small problem in wording regarding the phrase asthetics. The town will receive four acres of land from the owners for conservation.

A public hearing for a notice of intent was postponed for property located at 35 and 41 Pleasant Street (above). Tom Smith, Highway Chief had requested the hearing for a proposal to alleviate flooding by improving stormwater drainage and removing vegetation.

Attorney Peter Barbieri (yellow shirt above) representing Brian McCann/Hill Companies received approval for a proposal to construct an access roadway and to fill and replicate wetlands at 2016 Washington Street just east of Hopping Brook Road. The site (pictured below) was rezoned by Town Meeting and a proposed commerical plaza is to be built on the site.

Michael Brumber (above) received approval to use calcium chloride for dust control at his industrial site (pictured below) at 157-165 Lowland Street.

Commission members also held a new public meeting for a request for determination of applicability for Lot 1 at Rocky Woods Trail.
