American Cancer Society's Relay for Life for Ashland and Holliston is scheduled for
Saturday, June 9th through Sunday morning, June 10th at the Ashland Middle School.
The Relay For Life of Ashland and Holliston takes place Saturday, June 9th through the morning of Sunday, June 10th. It is located at the Ashland Middle School, 87 West Union Street in Ashland.
Opening Ceremony is at noon Saturday immediately followed by the Survivor/Caregiver Lap which officially begins the Relay.
Other highlights include: a food tent by Holliston Superette 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Fight Back Ceremony at 3:00 P.M, a Pantene Beautiful Lengths cut-a-thon from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.,
Remember/Luminaria ceremony at 9:00 p.m. and Closing Ceremony at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday. A DJ will be playing music from noontime to 11:00 p.m. Saturday to help motivate teams to keep a team member on the track at all times. Entertainment also includes:
Fly Fishing demonstration on how to tie flies from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Frozen Ropes will also be there to clock your pitching speed during the same time.
First Generation Karate will provide a demonstration at 7:00 p.m. and Music,
Movement & More will be getting the young participants moving and laughing at 4:00 p.m.
There are lots of fun activities for all ages with special themed laps around the track, free pizza and ice cream sundaes plus various onsite fundraisers. The committee for this year’s Relay For Life encourage everyone to drop by to see what Relay For Life is about and how we Celebrate survivors, Remember lost ones and Fight Back against cancer.

A Pantene Beautiful Lengths Cut-A-Thon will be held at this year’s Relay For Life of Ashland and Holliston on June 9th from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Ashland Middle School, 87 West Union Street in Ashland. Hairdressers will be onsite to cut ponytails that will be used in wigs for women undergoing chemotherapy treatments. The wigs are provided free of charge by the American Cancer Society. Hairdressers will also style participants’ hair after the ponytail is donated free of charge. Ponytails must be at least eight inches in length, less than 5% gray, without permanent hair coloring and freshly cleaned and free of styling products. Anyone under the age of eighteen wishing to get their ponytail cut at Relay will need to bring a signed parental permission slip which can be found at relayforlife.org/ashlandhollistonma under Fundraisers and Activities. If you wish to have your own hairdressers cut your ponytail before the Event, please place the ponytail in a plastic bag and drop it off during the cut-a-thon.
