Local Author to Visit Library

by Bill Tobin 7/12/12

The author will be a the Holliston Library on Tuesday, July 17 to read-aloud her new picture book, Duck Sock Hop.

Jane Kohuth, a Holliston resident, will be doing a read-aloud of her new picture book, Duck Sock Hop, along with a free sock hop dance party and sock decorating craft at the Holliston Library on Tuesday, 7/17 at 11 am.  There will be some signed books available for sale there and at Fiske's

Ducks pull socks from a big sock box. Socks with stripes and socks with spots . . . These ducks love their socks and they have them in every imaginable color and design. What should they do with them all? Hold a sock hop of course! A tongue-twisting, toe-tapping read-aloud sure to inspire dancing.

A lot of fun for kids of all ages.

Jane graduated from Brandeis University with a degree in English and Creative Writing and from Harvard Divinity School with a Master's Degree in Theological Studies. Though not all of what she's studied makes an appearance in her work (no Biblical Hebrew yet), the habits of creative thought and curiosity she developed in school help her every day. She has worked as a Jewish educator, a children's room library assistant, a writing teacher, and a children's bookseller and organizer of author events.
