Break-ins and triple ambulance runs top Media conference ...

Highlighting news at the police department Chief John Moore announced there has been an increase in larcenies and breaking and entering offenses in town. While area towns has seen a large hike in breaking and entering, Holliston's incidents are not quite as bad, but larger than usual Moore noted.

In a Shaw Farm Road incident on October 1st, the victim was aquainted with the perpetrator who used the help of an accomplice to lure the victim away from their house. Moore advises residents to lock their homes and vehicles, to guard against identity theft, and to report all suspicious persons, vehicles, and activity.

The town's new K9 dog should be reporting for duty around the 15th of January. For a 15 day reporting period beginning Oct. 1st the department recorded 22 incident reports, 10 arrest reports, 9 crash reports, from a log of 552 entries.

Fire Chief Michael Cassidy noted that his department made two mutual aid calls in the past two weeks:  the ambulance assisted Medway on October 2nd and both the ambulance and Engine 3 were called to Ashland on October 8th. Cassidy said that all of the town's three ambulances were in service concurrently on October 11th, an occurance which happens several times a year.
