Life-sized dinosaurs took over the Placentino Cafetorium last Thursday, January 17, 2013, when DinoMan showed up to take Holliston's Cub Scout Pack 47 on a visit through the mesozoic era.

Bob Lisaius, the genius behind DinoMan, had all of the Scouts enraptured as he answered questions like, "How do we know dinosaurs were here? What is a fossil? How are they made?"

The children and their parents were thoroughly entertained by DinoMan's fun and informative program.  DinoMan has garnered a "Best Bet" from the LA Times, been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, and appeared at Boston's First Night (the largest family celebration in the country) seven times.  DinoMan is based out of Vermont, and travels with his amazing life-sized friends in a Prius. Tiger Cub Aidan Daly said, "DinoMan was awesome and funny."

The Bogastow Brook Viaduct and the Highland Tunnel were both built in 1846 by the Boston and Worcester Railroad. The viaduct is an 8-arch bridge of granite and rubble fill that crosses the Bogastow Brook and also spans what was the tailrace of the former Darling Woolen Mills. The tunnel is constructed in a unique horseshoe shape with stone exterior and brick interior.

Holliston Trails Committee Awarded Grant

Representative Carolyn Dykema and Senator Karen Spilka are proud to announce the Holliston Trails Committee was awarded a $50,000 grant under the MA Department of Conservation and Recreation’s Recreational Trails Program at a special ceremony Friday morning, October 17, 2014. This funding will be used to improve the Holliston section of the Upper Charles Rail Trail by connecting completed sections of the Holliston Trail to the Milford section.

Dancing Art's Nutracker

Dancing Arts Center is thrilled to announce that this year’s production of The Nutcracker will be held at the beautifully restored Norwood Theater in Norwood, Massachusetts. DAC will perform the full-length version of this classic ballet, and will include both Dancing Arts Center Students as well as professional dancers. Special student shows reserved for school groups will be held Friday December 19, and regular performances will be held Saturday, December 20 and Sunday, December 21 This an an opportunity for families to enjoy an affordable production of the full-length Nutcracker story.

Concession Stand Dedicated September 26, 2014

Excerpts from the speech by Andy Porter at the dedication are in italics. Back in early 2011, HABA, Holliston Athletic Boosters Association, started to put their plan into action. They wanted to build the community a “real” concession stand and create a welcoming entrance to Kamitian Field that would represent how special Holliston is and be a landmark that everyone in town would be proud of.
