HBA to Contribute to One Fund Boston

by Press Release
April 20, 2013

In light of the events this past week The Holliston Business Association has committed to donate 50% of its net profits from its MONTE CARLO NIGHT fund raiser, on Friday, April 26th to the One Fund Boston which has been established by the city of Boston to support those affected by the Boston Marathon Bombings this past  Monday.

The HBA’s Monte Carlo Night is a fund raiser designed to raise money for the HBA’s Community Action Fund which is a fund designed to provide immediate and emergency financial assistance to needy people in our community.

The HBA board agreed that Holliston is an extension of the Boston community and spirit of the organization is to provide help to those who desperately need it most.

HBA president John Drohan stated: “It is fitting and appropriate that since we were having an event that we share part of what we earned to assisting those affected by the bombing.  The fundamental principal of ‘helping our community’ is what our organization is based on.  This is what we do.”

There are still tickets available for the April 26, 2013 event at the Holliston Town Hall.  If you would like to purchase tickets or provide support email John Drohan at jdrohan@maineffort.com or call the HBA at 508.893.9941.  Information on the event and the HBA can be found at hollistonbusinessassociation.com.

Kids and Money

by Ryland Hanstad

Nurturing Your Child's Financial Growth "Reading, writing, mathematics"-- too bad that list doesn't include personal finance. Most kids learn the basics of money and making change in elementary school, but probably won't learn how to manage money unless they choose finance as a career path. That means it is up to all of us to see that our children reach adulthood prepared to face life's fiscal challenges
